Statewide Goals; Local Support
Formerly funded as the Southwest Tech Prep Regional Center, the Southwest Regional Career Pathway Support Network consists of full-time staff, contracted support staff, and actively engaged workforce development partners jointly committed to expanding regional efforts meeting all outlined goals and deliverables for the Career Pathway Support Network as provided by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
The Southwest Region has a longstanding history of collaboration, partnership, and robust programming supporting career connected learning, and the team is energized and engaged to expand the work being done to support all Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and students in the southwest region. Over the last two decades, the Southwest Region has convened with workforce development partners and leaders in career-connected learning spaces to ensure students of the region receive the most collaborative, robust engagement the area has to offer. It is widely known that this region works better together, and the partnerships are strong with interest in continuing with that spirit.
Where we are headed
The newly named Career Pathway Support Network in the Southwest Region is excited to take the decades of knowledge and services provided by Tech Prep to career technical education and expand outward to all regional school districts to amplify the impact of career connected learning. This expansion, as guided by the goals of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, is intended to impact more students in the region at younger ages through a variety of initiatives, with the broader goal of engaging in career exploration and guiding students along the most applicable educational journey, ending in meaningful careers.
