Partner College Credit Alignments

Each college partner in the Southwest Region works with Tech Prep staff to create pathway documents. These documents outline the early college credit opportunities at each specific school and how they work with in specific degree programs. The documents also denote the type of credit available to the specific college courses.

These pathway documents are intended to communicate with students a specific program snapshot as to how they can best-leverage their credits. These documents showcase one specific major, but in many cases the courses identified for early credit could be found in other degree programs.

Students utilizing the pathway documents to help would course selection and program planning should be collaborating with college advising personnel. These are not intended to be viewed as a graduation plan, but as a guide and roadmap as to how students can best-utilize their early college credits. 

In the Southwest Region, Tech Prep works with the area college partners to ensure appropriate, CTE to post-secondary alignments are established and communicated to all who need access. Not only are there opportunities for bilateral articulation agreements (one college to one career tech program), but the Southwest Tech Prep Regional Center has pioneered regional bilateral articulation agreements, meaning the college partner agrees to allow bilateral articulated credit to be awarded to all career technical programs with that specific program/pathway in the region. This incredible opportunity opens access to more programs and students to receive the early college credit they so deserve as it has been earned in the career tech programs.
