Great Oaks SIOP Training Opportunity

August 6 & 7th at Scarlet Oaks Career Campus

During the 2-day SIOP professional development, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Model, a research-based instructional framework designed to support English and multilingual learners. The training will cover eight key components of lesson design and delivery, including lesson preparation, building background, comprehensible input, and assessment. While SIOP was specifically designed to support English learners, it models best practice structures that enhance content accessibility for all learners, including those with IEPs and 504 plans. Participants will learn effective, ready-to-use strategies that can be immediately applied to any lesson, enhancing academic outcomes for all students. The PD will also provide opportunities for hands-on practice and modeling of these strategies. Upon completion, participants will receive a SIOP certificate.
