Ohio Healthcare Education & Workforce Leaders Quarterly Meeting

Please join us on January 28, 2025 for the virtual Ohio Healthcare Education & Workforce Leaders Meeting at 12:00 pm.  We will hear from several of our partners across the State of Ohio.  

Lisa Lucas, Health Excel Service Coordinator from Cincinnati State Health & Public Safety Division will share how the college is partnering to provide 50 career tech students each year with a full-week Scrub Camp.  This highly interactive camp provides the students hands-on career exploration across their many different in-demand health programs and pathways, and even a full day experiencing live health care in action at an area hospital. Jason Haak, Superintendent/CEO from Upper Valley Career Center & Ryan Curtis, Manager of Program Design from Ohio Department of Education & Workforce will be focusing on how they create opportunities in Career Technical Education through the State’s new Ohio Technical Center Plus (OTC+) model.  They will be sharing information on how Upper Valley Career Center is using OTC+ to provide STNA certification to area students that have not been able to attend traditional career center programs where STNA is embedded.  Jason & Ryan will also discuss how Upper Valley Career Center is starting to offer LPN training towards certification for secondary students using OTC+.
