Mid-Year Workforce Data Update

Jason provided a Mid-Year Workforce Data update which are results from employer surveys in the Greater Southwest Ohio County metropolitan area 1/1/2024 – 6/30/2024. Vacancy Rates have decreased in the past year from 8.5% to 7.5%.  There are pockets of higher vacancy such as RN at 9.7%.  A total of 24 job titles have vacancy rates >7%, with 15 of these jobs at >10%.  Overall Turnover rates have improved since 2021 from 21.2% to 17.5%.  The rate is still slightly higher than in previous years but has stayed fairly steady over the past 2 years.  Job retention has been steady for voluntary for the past few years, but first-year and involuntary turnover have increased. Retirement rates have slowed. There is a steady increase in hiring but that is expected given the percentage of vacancies.

2025 Workforce Advisory Council Meetings & Subgroups

Hope and Nicci reviewed the missions of Subgroups of the Workforce Advisory Council which include the Regional Career Exploration Collaborative, the Healthcare Pathway Partners, a revived Community Partners group, and 4 newly forming In-Demand Career Workgroups.

Hope requested all WAC members complete a 2-minute survey indicating which subgroup(s) each person would like to attend, as well as help identify individuals for the new In-Demand Career Workgroups.  This survey will hopefully help eliminate some meetings from calendars as we become more intentional with meeting purposes.
